What is a PTO? PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. The PTO focuses on building the kind of school community where teachers and students can do their best work. These days, schools are asked to do more with less (shrinking school budgets, fewer resources, etc.) which means parent involvement is more important than ever. The PTO works to help create the best possible educational experience for our children.

How does the PTO help Wilmeth? The PTO helps support, promote and foster the educational and social environment at Wilmeth. The support provided varies from monetary support for things such as curriculum needs, school equipment/ supplies and social activities (such as school dances and assemblies), to volunteer support efforts, to administrative support and appreciation efforts for teachers and staff.

How can you get involved? It’s easy to get involved with the Wilmeth PTO. You can attend any of the quarterly PTO meetings to find out the latest news and get more information on areas for involvement that might match your skills and interests. Additionally, you can visit this website or the Wilmeth PTO Facebook Page to get more information.

As a member of the PTO am I required to attend the meetings? PTO meetings are not mandatory, they are optional. The meetings are meant to serve as an additional resource for parents to learn more about what’s happening at Wilmeth, learn about ways they can get involved, provide them an opportunity to meet other parents, etc.
